Didier Field Airport Information – Port Washington, WI

cessna803Our airfield is a private grass runway running NORTH/SOUTH and is NOT found on any maps or sectionals. You must always call in advance to check on the condition of the runway. It tends to be VERY soft in the spring time, depending on the amount of snowfall.

The GPS coordinates are as follows and can be found using Google Maps or any other site: N43 26.629 W87 52.161

The street address is 4576 County Road KW, Port Washington, WI 53074. We are located about 4 miles north of the Port Washington marina and 2 miles west of the Lake Michigan shoreline.

The runway is about 2,800 feet long and 100 feet wide. There are POWER LINES above the south end, which are marked with orange markers, so take caution if you need to land on runway 36.

The elevation is 750 MLS. We have a slight slope (about 10 feet) between the north and south end. The runway is about 10 feet lower on the north end, which can sometimes be wet. We typically always depart on runway 36 (going downhill) and land using runway 18 (uphill) unless we have winds greater than 10 knots. We have 3 windsocks. One on each end of the runway and one on the top of the hangar.
The runway is usually lit from dusk until about 2AM. If you need the lights left on later or turned on earlier, just call in advance.

There is ample room outside to tie down. We typically have an extra “The CLAW” tie down system found inside the hangar, but you would be best advised to bring your own tie downs.
